Our falconry displays always take pride in the fact that we are so fortunate to do something that we love doing. But today, is a special day because it is World Falconry Day! This day – 16th November – was selected because it was the day in 2010 that UNESCO recognised Falconry as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This means that our art is something which is special and is part of the legacy of all humans throughout the world, something to be valued, defended and developed. It has roots in human history and should have a place in humanity’s future. November 16th 2010 was indeed one of the most important events in the 4000 year history of Falconry and it is a fine day for us all to celebrate our art of falconry displays!
