1978650_611532508931801_8524119332111693605_nThe team are pleased to announce a new member to the display team.  This is Pebbles (aged 2 weeks and 6 days old) and she is a extremely unique owl, rarely seen in displays through the United Kingdom.  We are unsure as to what gender Pebbles is as it is always difficult to tell with owls, although Pebbles does seem heavy for the age, so ourselves and the breeder believe that ‘it’ is a she.  Pebbles is a Siberian Eagle Owl crossed with a Turkmenian Eagle Owl.

She was born on the 25th March 2014 and was collected by Alistair.  Pebbles is doing extremely well for her age and does seem to be determined to do things before she is meant to.  Today she found her feet and there is now no stopping her, until she falls asleep that is!

Pebbles will grow to be an extremely large eagle owl, with a predicted 6 foot wingspan and she will hopefully be undertaking her first flying performance at The Cotswold Show on the 5th and 6th July, but before then she will be taken to almost every event, getting used to all the surroundings possible that she will come across during her lifetime, but also allowing for members of the public to see a baby owl up close.  Her main role at Hawkeye Falconry UK is to take the place, periodically, of our other Eagle Owl called Pudsey, when we believe that he deserves a rest from undertaking flying displays.

The team will keep posting images of her progress on the website, but mainly on our Facebook page.  We cannot wait to see what she will turn out like!
